Let’s greet this new decade with a musical trip through the “old 80s” to find songs to help us relate to the High Holy Day season in the “new 80s.”
Judaism has four different “New Years!” The 1st of the month of Nissan (March/April) kicks off the holiday cycle and Nissan is the first month of the year. The 1st of the month of Elul is the new year for the animals. Tu B’Shevat is the new year for trees. And the 1st of Tishrei (Rosh Hashanah) is the new year for years.
