Bar/Bat Mitzvah Preparation

The mentor and family determine the best course of study for each individual student based on the student’s background and previous Jewish or Hebrew education. Lessons tend to be scheduled for one hour per week leading up to the service.

We have also provided much-needed specialized education for students with learning differences who have not found success fitting into the conventional Hebrew learning and B’nai Mitzvah training programs. In addition to learning to read Hebrew, chant from the Torah and lead a service, each student has the opportunity to study Jewish prayer, history, bible stories, philosophy and traditions. It is the mission of Hebrew Helpers to engage students in meaningful conversation and provide modern relevance for to this age-old right of passage.
